Rain is so important for giving us water to nourish our bodies, to keep ourselves clean and for cooking and cleaning around the house. It is especially important for farmers and people who rely on rainwater to live.

This spell attempts to bring rain where is is sorely needed and bring an end to droughts.

Here is an example of a rain spell that you can follow.

You will need:

• Some blue agate and lapis lazuli
• Some mugwort and dandelion.
• A light blue candle to symbolize water.
• An altar or a safe space where you won’t be interrupted.
• A wand.
• A knife or needle.
• Two bowls, one filled with water.

Step 1: Prepare your space

Make sure that you have a nice clean, safe space to conduct your spell in where you won’t be interrupted. Make sure there’s nothing flammable nearby or anything that might fall onto your altar.

Gather all of your tools and ingredients so you won’t have to leave your circle to grab them.

Step 2: Cast a Circle

Use your wand to cast a circle to protect yourself and hold the energy of your spell until you are ready to release it. For help doing this have a look at this article on how to cast a circle.

Step 3: The Spell

Begin by saying:

“I call upon the elements, air of the east, fire of the south, water of the west and earth of the north, hear my plea today”

Take the crystals and place them them on your altar. Take the light blue candle and carve “It is Raining” into it with your knife or needle. You might also like to carve a sigil into the candle or create the shape of one with the elements on your altar. Sprinkle the herbs over the candle and around your altar.

Light the candle.

Take the bowl of water and slowly pour it into the other bowl. When it is full repeat the process into the other bowl. Do this three times for each bowl while saying out loud:

”Spirits of the atmosphere,

give us rain and water clear”

Meditate while you wait for the candle to burn down to nothing. While meditating visualize rain falling down upon your face, nourishing crops and providing hydration for the soil. Imagine empty lakes and rivers suddenly filling with beautiful, clear water.

When the candle has burnt away destroy your circle and the energy of your spell will be distributed.

Tips

• If you can’t wait for the candle to burn away completely that’s ok. Just make sure you close your circle properly when you decide to end the spell.
• Remember your intention is the most important element of witchcraft so don’t worry if you don’t have all the right equipment or don’t follow the instructions exactly. If you believe it has power it will work!
• You might like to hold onto your crystals while you meditate to amplify the energy and provide a tactile experience
